Tom is delighted to have been reappointed for another term as one of the Mayor of London’s Design Advocates, supporting the Good Growth agenda at City Hall. Tom will also be continuing in his role as Town Architect with the London Borough of Hounslow.
Design advocates have already made a significant impact, from producing thought-leading publications to championing design quality through the London Review Panel. The Mayor, Sadiq Khan, noted “With this new cohort, I am confident we can build on that legacy and further advance inclusivity, sustainability, and excellence in design across the city.”
Selected from a record number of applications, Tom has advised every Mayor of London since the establishment of the Greater London Authority, starting with Ken Livingstone’s initiative, the East London Green Grid, back in 2006. With a New London Plan emerging, pressure to deliver affordable housing and better infrastructure, as well as adapting the city for climate change, this promises to be a busy session!
