To add to the excitement of 2026, we’re delighted to be appointed by Corpus Christi College to develop a refurbishment and retrofit strategy for Botolph Court. This rarely-glimpsed court of C17th and C18th buildings, is close to the main site, and provides accommodation for the college’s undergraduate students.
The strategy will address the constraints of the tight site, the heritage and technical issues arising from the historic, some half-timbered, construction, and resolve these with both contemporary expectations of comfort, amenity, and sustainability and the college’s refurbishment and decarbonisation plans for the wider estate.
By successfully balancing the concerns of sustainability and heritage with issues of cost and practical delivery, we will identify strategies to transform the building’s spatial and energy efficiency, and to restore the historic character of Botolph Court and increase the quality of the college’s student accommodation.
